Weight Lifting Tips

When approaching weight lifting, there needs to be a set plan in place. Are you planning a bulking phase or a cutting phase? These weight lifting tips will help you to pin point what you want to focus on as you begin your weight lifting.

There are many reasons to lift weights. These can include but are not limited to: weight loss, gaining weight, strengthen joints, improved energy, and improved metabolism.

Before embarking on this journey however, it is important to plan ahead. We want to determine whether we are looking to gain weight or lose weight. Weight lifting is generally divided into two categories: the bulking phase and the cutting phase.

The bulking phase is designed for individuals that want to focus on increasing their muscle mass and in effect gain more weight. While the cutting phase is mainly designed for weight loss.

The individuals main focus is to cut back on the amount of fat present in the body being careful to preserve as much muscle tissue as possible.

Many beginners make the mistake of focusing on both bulking up and losing body fat. While results may vary, this method is technically not possible. When you are bulking or gaining weight there is an increase in caloric intake. When you are losing weight you are creating a caloric deficit. Do you see the problem here?? Your efforts will be cancelled out. It is important to focus on one thing at a time.

When bulking. the source of the calories and the intensity of the workouts will determine the success of your bulking phase. The goal here is to add muscle not extra fat. For optimum results it is best to determine your BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) and add 500 calories.

You want to add good calories to your diet to increase results (avoid chips, soda, and empty calories in general). BMR uses age, weight, and height to determine the minimum amount of calories that need to be consumed in order for your body to function properly.

When cutting, calculate the basal metabolic rate and subtract 300-500 calories from the result. The main goal here is to focus on maximum fat loss. It is important not to implement crash diets, they may hinder your results. If not done properly, muscle tissue will be lost while cutting. You don’t want your hard work to go to waste. In order to conserve as much muscle tissue as possible, slowly decrease the amount of calories consumed. Measure your bodies reaction and proceed from there (healthy weight loss is 1 pound a week or a decrease of 500 calories a day). The calorie deficit can be created by adding aerobic exercise or simply by cutting back on what you eat.

Question by lampe182: Weight Lifting?
Hey im 17yrs old 5’9″ 230lbs. I started lifting in May and i was 280lbs. The last 3 weeks i stayed the same weight. I added in 2 miles of running 5 times a week 2 weeks ago and i still vary from 228-230. I use to lift heavy weights light reps. Now my goal is to be 180lbs cut, ripped, and defined. Im going to keep on running but should i now switch from lifting heavy weights and turn to lifting lighter ones to get my body out of its plateau and burn more fat?

no i don’t think so,if you lower the weights then you can lose your muscle strength. Keep to the weight of your weights if you want to keep fit and lose weight. or even go higher to build muscle if you want it.

hope it helps

Blood Group Diet Tips and Info

Article by Henrik Jonsson

What if there was a diet that allowed you to eat meat, drink bear and french fries? Yet had little or no requirements when it came to exercise levels.

You would most likely be thinking that what I am telling you is bogus and is yet another fad-diet among many.

Well the blood group diet is surely no fad-diet and is today used by thousands of people worldwide. Today there is currently 4 recognized blood groups covering the entire human race.

The types are named A, B, AB and O. These four groups are also divided into subgroups, and are ruled by something called antigens. Even though two people have the same type of blood, doesn’t mean that they necessarily would be advised to go on the same diet.

This is because of the antigens in our blood; they give us information on precisely what type of nutrition that will be beneficial to us.

Following the blood group diet, is without a doubt the most healthy and natural way for any person to lose weight and maintain their health. But exactly how do you go about it, when you are looking to lose weight and feel healthy, yet still eat steaks and potatoes on a daily basis?

A person who has blood type A must get used to living on a vegetarian diet with little or no meats in it. This is because the digestive system in blood type A people, has difficulties with breaking down and making use of proteins, coming from animal products. You should also stay clear of diary products and indulge in more calming types of exercise like yoga, long walks, diving, golf, pilates etc.

For the people with the type O blood, the diet must be rich in animal proteins and low on carbs. Meat, eggs, potatoes and beans are all good choices here. However, you must prepare yourself for a high level of physical activity like running, swimming, skiing, aerobics and spinning.

Combining most foods into a perfect mixture of all will suit the group B people well, however they should be careful when it comes to processed foods and nuts. Diary products have shown to be beneficial to group B people.

If you are in blood group AB, you must stick to a vegan diet plan combined with lean meats like fish and poultry. Type AB people will also have some benefits from eating diary products, but not on a regular basis.

I read a blood type diet book, but since I’m O–universal donor, I figure that if something is good for another blood type, being the “oldest blood type,” I can eat anything. :*)

Start a life of eating healthy food, drinking healthy drinks (mainly water), limiting your caloric intake to what your body “needs,” and exercise. That will help you lose weight and to keep it off. :*)

I eat plenty of fresh fruits and veggies, limit junk food–especially sodas and anything with high fructose corn syrup or anything artificial, eat whole grains and good proteins (nuts, seeds and mostly turkey and chicken and a little beef) My only vice……ice cream every now and again…no one is perfect after all.

Health Tips

Hair care
Extract water of white onion and massage it on your scalp. Then cover your head with a cloth for the bad odor. After four hours, massage your scalp with mustard oil and then wash your hair. After few weeks your hair will stop falling and new hair will start to grow.

Natural Skin Care
Fuller’s earth is the best for all types of skin. It closes the open pores and tightens the skin of the face. Take dry Fuller’s earth, one egg white and a spoon of honey and make a paste by mixing the ingredients and apply it on the face. Wash your face when you feel your face starts to tighten and paste starts to dry. You’ll have a clean skin.

Lip Color
To make dark lips pink, mix few drops of lemon juice in coconut oil and apply it on your lips several times in a day.

Talk to yourself
Reciting as you read and reviewing notes out loud increases attention and motivation, and creates a stronger neural trace of memory by utilizing more senses.

Break the fast
One meal of the day that is usually missed is breakfast! And many people are unaware of the benefits of having it.

It improves concentration, enhances performance, gives better memory, reduces fatigue and sleepiness in mid morning hours and prevents indulgence in high calorie snacks later in the day. A healthy breakfast can also help prevent certain health risks like obesity, heart disease, type 2 diabetes and dyslipidemia. So are you having second thoughts?

yes it is you should wait at least 2 hours after eating before going to sleep or else the food you just ate won’t burn up! you shouldn’t eat after like 6pm
